The speaker at our afternoon meeting in January was John Field who gave us a talk on the history of Oswestry Christian Bookshop. It was fascinating to hear how John related this to his own personal journey of faith. John kindly brought a selection of items that are on sale at the Bookshop to show members the range of goods available.

The evening meeting this month was a social evening with drinks and nibbles, and I hope those who attended enjoyed it as much as I did. It was really encouraging to welcome several people who are new to Mothers Union.

I would like to thank all members who have paid their Mothers Union subscription for this year (£15), and would ask anyone who has not yet paid to pay these as soon as possible, please.

The next evening meeting will be on Thursday, 17 February in St John's Room at 7.30 pm. Our speaker for this meeting will be Gill Corp who will be talking about the Women's Refuge.

The next afternoon meeting will be on Monday, 21 February at 2.00 pm at the Town Hall when the speaker will be the Revd Rosie Bowers who is MU Chaplain for Salop.
