Dear Friends,
Stewardship Campaign
We are in the middle of our Stewardship Campaign and I want to thank everyone who has returned their Pledge Card with any new or increased Standing Orders or Envelope requests and Giftaid forms. However, those who have not done so, would you please do so soon. It will be a more difficult task to visit everyone who has not returned their forms. The Bishop of Shrewsbury will then bless our Pledges and Forms on Sunday 13th June at the Confirmation.
'Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also' Luke 12.34
Corpus Christi - Thursday 3rd June
'Thanksgiving for the Institution of the Holy Communion' to give it it's full title where we give thanks for the Eucharist with a special Sung Eucharist at 7.30 p.m. and those who attend are invited back to the Vicarage for wine and cheese afterwards.
Parish Lunch
6th June at Mereside Farm 12.30 p.m. Tickets £10. We are very grateful to Rodney and Nikki Stokes for letting us come again this year to their home and for providing us with our Parish Lunch.
Autumn Market 16th October
We are having a Planning Meeting for this year's Autumn Market on Monday 14th June 7.30 p.m. at the Vicarage. If you are involved or want to be involved please join us so we can make this year's event a success.
Stations of the Cross in Memory of Fr Maurice Gray
These are on their way and about half the cost has been given so far and a number of people have also pledged to give. If you would like to give something in memory of Fr Maurice (each of the fourteen stations costs a little over £200) please give your donations to our Treasurer or myself. Many thanks.
Finally Fr Tom Boulcott, who has been an assistant priest here at St. Mary's for around twenty-five years, is celebrating his Sixtieth Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood on Sunday 6th June. This is quite a remarkable achievement and we wish him well and are grateful for his special ministry among us.
My prayers and best wishes,
Fr. Philip Edge - Vicar
